Is Senseless to Fast and Pray to win an award like the VGMA-Joe Mettle

After song writer Joseph Oscar Mettle was nominated in the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music awards "Artiste of the Year" category, the Gospel music fraternity fervently fasted and prayed for their brother in a bid to win the topmost award, hence making history as not the first gospel Artiste to win the Artiste of the year, but the first Gospel Artiste to win the Topmost award at the VGMA.

It was a keen bout between the heavyweights in all genres with the likes of Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Mzvee, EL, Medikal, and Joe Mettle.

The Circular artistes unfortunately fell at the final hurdle as the Gospel Music fraternity evinced to the entire world that they really serve a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious God who answers prayers, after Joe Mettle emerged as the winner in the said category.

This success story has been ascribed to the persistent prayers from the camp of the award winning artiste.

But on the contrary, Joe Mettle in an exclusive Interview with Kessben FM's DJ Roar last saturday, on the most listened to entertainment talk show in Kumasi dubbed "Weekend Gruuv" refuted those speculations.

"I see no sense in fasting and praying to win an award like the VGMA. I never prayed to win this award" he transpired.

Apart from the Artiste of the Year award, Joe Mettle beat Ogya Mensah, Afriyie, Akwaboah, Sonnie Badu, and Ernest Opoku to win the Best Male Vocalist of the Year award.

He also picked up the Gospel Artiste of the Year award.
